White text on green, or not?

Hello,

New to the forum and have browsed through a few posts. Not sure if this has been asked before, so sorry if it has.

I want to get printed a block of green with white text on top, as part of a letterhead.Question is.. should i keep the text white and send it to the printer?.... or..... cut the text out of the green block, so that it's "transparent" (so it will show the colour of the paper as text colour and not white)?

Hope you know what i mean!?!? What would best/easiest for the printing company?

White text on top of green will be fine. The white will knock itself out of the green and won’t print.

If you’re using InDesign you can actually set the colour as 'paper'.

If the paper's white and you print in green the text will be white. . . .

Love the innocence of this post - no offence - I'm not criticising :)

White text 'knocks out' whatever is sits on. Physically chopping it out (like a pastry cutter) does do the same thing, but is unnecessary in this situation.
