Poor Quality Images

Hello All - I wonder if anyone can help me out as I am not a graphic designer.

I have just set up a new company and am setting up new social media accounts that require profile pictures, so I have re-sized images to match the required dimensions but when I do this the quality of the image is very poor. Does anyone know a site where I can easily improve the quality of these re-sized images?

It sounds like you are making the images bigger, this will pixelate the images which makes them look low quality because simply they are low quality. You will need bigger (better quality/higher pixel number) images.

Thank you for the reply, I'm actually trying to make the image smaller, Instagrame profile images need to be 110 X 110 pixels and my current image is a Facebook profile image which is about 1200 X 630 pixels or something like that. When I re-size so it is smaller it goes blurry and poor.

I've got a standard HP laptop with Windows on it, I don't have a clue where you would go on this computer to improve the quality of an image. I'm a product developer originally, we had a graphic design department that did all this for us so I'm 100% oblivious. I even had to google what OS meant...

You can also download free photo editing software like Gimp: https://www.gimp.org

You aren't going to be able to improve the images you've already made btw you will either have to create them again or get someone else to do it (graphic designers or anyone or knows how to use Photoshop could do it for you for a price).

When you save an image for the web its compressed this is to make it download quicker. Compression means you lose some quality (data), you can't "add" this back in after because the data is gone.
