Designer (web/branding) required for new boutique PR agency

I have recently established a new PR agency specialising in luxury lifestyle brands and high profile individuals from the world of TV, film and fashion.

I've worked in PR, TV production and publishing for the past 12 years.

I need a creative genius to take lead on the brand identity and website design.

Now comes the part every freelancer dreads - budget. I believe in being honest from the outset - it's pretty non-existent (£200-£300). I know from being freelance myself, for the work and time commitment involved; it's ludicrous.

Naturally, I'm more than happy to provide you with a credit and pass any new business enquiries from clients or colleagues your way. Hopefully, the agency would be a great benefit for your portfolio, we're determined to succeed and I'd really like to take the right individual on that journey with us.

I have a domain and a shocking landing/under construction page. Our 1st client is about to sign on the dotted line, so it's onwards and upwards from here.

In terms of content, we'll not have an abundance of this. We want a luxury, refined simple message to be portrayed through the design.

Several other examples of competitors in our sector for an insight into the type of design/branding which aligns to luxury PR:

I've just moved into a new office in Tottenham Court Road and would love to hear from anyone who thinks the project could be for them?

If you're interested ping me an email or leave your details below - I'll certainly be in touch: [email protected]

I've approved this post, however I believe your budget will cause some issues for members of the forum.

As web is my area of expertise, I'd recommend looking at the likes of squarespace for a website as you'll be able to do it yourself. Regarding branding.. you may be lucky and find a member that'll work with you on this budget but I really wouldnt hold my breath.

Good luck. :)

I saw this ad on another site, sounds like a great brief. I sent you a message via the other site with my suggestions due to your budget.

I've approved this post

Do mods have to approve posts now before they are displayed?

£300 would just about cover the cost of a logo, not the whole branding. I don't think Squarespace is the way to go, but only because it sounds like they'd like something with a bit more of a professional/ luxury feel. Squarespace has real limitations and this may be a hindrance as the agency grows. I'd recommend Wordpress over Squarespace all day long.

Not all posts. Some posts are flagged up for approval if the site believes they may be spam (I think this may only apply to new members 1st posts??).

Regarding Squarespace, WordPress etc... It's worth remembering that wordpress comes in 2 flavours, hosted (.com) and self hosted(.org). Hosted is the almost free "click here to get started" one and is rediculously restrictive over theme usage, plugins and codebase access whilst self hosted requires you to buy your own hosting domain etc... but is completely open. However if you've got no money for a developer to build a site and no technical knowledge of how to install wp on a server, set up and manage themes plugins etc.. it's an uphill slog which will ultimately be restricted by the limitations of the theme you've chosen. Squarespace is probably the best of the diy site builders as a relative novice can produce a half decent looking site in a matter of hours. Going forward as a growing business requires more and more from its web presence, no self built site will be appropriate and will require a reasonable level of investment in development and marketing.

Probably a first post and a lot of links - us Mods read them all and let through the ones that look good. All others are deleted.

If there's any issue posting anything then get in touch and we'll be glad to help.
