Heads up - non-paying client! Natalie Potter - Thalia Bespoke

Just a warning to steer clear of a certain Natalie Potter, trading as Thalia Bespoke in London, normally involved around the fashion industry.

I did a job for her last summer and she still hasn't paid up, even after filing a court claim. I made the mistake of sending her the 'rush' job before she had chance to send any up-front payment. I'm not the only one who she's done this to after a quick check on Facebook.

That's the one. She's not even got a website. Notice how when you Google her, the first ones that come up are Companies House etc. Figures.

I guess there's a lesson to be learned here. :(

Hope you didn't get stung for too much Wardy.

I know, that's why I wanted to let people know about her, and to say to people, always try and get money up front.

The job was only £250, and it's just wasted time when you think about it, it's just really annoying
to think she's taking advantage of a lot of people.

I think it's good that you've named and shamed.
Some people do make a habit of ripping people off.

I think more should do this but a lot of people seem to be afraid for some reason.

She contacted me just like any other normal client, not sure where she found my name.

I think it was wanted the next day, so I was just focused on getting the job done rather than
worrying about whether she was Kosher or not. Like Scotty says, a lesson to be learned!

If the person in question reads this thread and wants it removing please send the required payment to Wardy and he can then request that the thread be deleted.

Until that point in time I fully support the notion of naming and shaming potential clients who may take away valuable income from small businesses. Like many of small businesses people who work in design still have bills to pay and people not paying 'because it's design' just isn't on imo.
