Thread: Student graphic designer/art director needed for creative partnership

Hello all

I am a copywriter in my third year of university studying advertising, unfortunately my creative partner/art director has left his studies due to a family bereavement.

I’m looking for a whizzkid on photoshop/illustrator to work with on some mock advertising work towards a portfolio.

I bring bags of ideas and enthusiasm to every brief and would love to strike up a partnership with someone in a similar situation(ideally someone on the hunt for their first job and looking to bump their folio’).

Hi, I'm not looking to work with anyone on student projects but I just thought I'd add my tuppence worth.... A student cannot be a director of anything because they don't have the experience to lead or direct (hence the title student). If you're looking for a creative/art director you need to be looking at experienced designers (who will command a large fee) if you want a student to work with you on free/unpaid projects you need to look at colleges and uni's with design courses.

I think you may be confusing graphic design art direction with advertising art direction.
In advertising you are paired up in two ...an art director and a copy writter. This is irrelivant of level of exp. Basically you work as one proffesional person. You would do this from uni to the work enviroment. You can change partners but its kind of like a marrage...so yes you can get divorced. (I only know about this because I went to an MA in creative advertisement at falmouth uni.) So yes much diffrent from graphic design in terms of calling your self a art director, not to be bosy but this is definalty right :)
