I've imported the layers from Photoshop and have been able to create the lozenge shape I have by tweaking an ellipse placed over the original. In Photoshop the lozenge has an embossed effect on it, can I replicate that effect in Illustrator using the same technical settings (depth, angles etc,)...

I've created a logo in Photoshop and would like to know if it's possible and how one can, take it into Illustrator and turn everything (including the tonal images) into vector.

I'm just getting to grips (not very well) with Calibre trying to convert a couple of books for a client, who wants to sell on Kindle. I've got the original high res pdfs and have converted the files to generic ebook files, but when you open them, they gone all over the place. Hints and...

Going back to the days of paste up, a client gave me a crumpled piece of paper to me with a very rough scamped idea on it and asked me if I could produce something from it. A day or so later he 'phoned to see where his job was and I said I was waiting for the artwork and he sounded puzzled...
