    Printing JPG?

A client of mine insists on having their piece of artwork prepared in JPG format at 300dpi. Do some printers accept JPG files? This isn't something I've ever heard of..

How to achieve this effect in Illustrator

As mentioned in the thread title, I'm using Illustrator, and I was referring to the Paintbrush tool. I'm still an Illustrator novice, and was just wondering if I'd missed any glaringly obvious more automated methods of achieving that style than just hand-drawing the design. Thanks for the...

I want to achieve the hand-drawn, offset effect seen in these logos: LogoPond - Identity Inspiration - LogoPond - Identity Inspiration - LogoPond - Identity Inspiration - Am I missing an obvious, more accurate way of achieving this than simply using the brush tool freehand? TIA...

URGENT: First time designing CD cover

Thanks for the advice, but nothing I'm finding is appropriate, still.. I just keep coming up with individual insert templates, or templates without guide lines. Laying the whole thing out baffles me without bleed, crop etc lines..*sigh* :\

URGENT: First time designing CD cover

Thanks for the reply, pcbranding. As I said, I'm not all that experienced, and was led to believe that Photoshop was the correct program to design in in this instance - particularly given the fact that my design will feature photography. Not to mention the fact that all of the results I've...

URGENT: First time designing CD cover

BossHog: Thanks for looking, however the download files from the first link (at least, the ones I need) are corrupt, and the files in the second link are in the wrong resolution. Should've also specified in my original post that, ideally, I'm looking for PSD format. I've been searching...

URGENT: First time designing CD cover

I'm designing a CD cover as a favour, but I've never designed anything like this for print before, and it's driving me mad! Does anyone know where I can find a FREE CD cover design template, including bleed, cut lines and safety margins, back cover insert with both side spines, and front...

    Whose logo is this?!

Found this lying around, thought for sure it was BP's logo. I looked them up, and it turns out not... So, where have I seen it before?

    Illustrator - weaved effect?

Hmm..can you elaborate on that a bit? Not having used the knife tool before, I don't really know what functions it serves.. would I have to split up the initial path into different sections in order to be able to cut it at the exact points? Had a quick play around, and a quick Google, but...

    Illustrator - weaved effect?

Hi all, I'm trying to achieve a weaved effect, as shown in the top symbol in this image: http://portugues.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/8766554/2/istockphoto_8766554-celtic-knotwork.jpg I'm sure there's an entirely straightforward method of doing this, but I can't, for the...

Brochure Design for Print Advice: URGENT

Thanks for your reply, bigdave :) Re pricing structure: Is it advisable to place a fixed fee on the project, or to charge per hour/per page? I've done a quick bit of Googling, and initial impressions seem to be that a lot of people are charging per page. Is that standard? Cheers!

Brochure Design for Print Advice: URGENT

Hi there, I'm primarily a logo/website designer, but have just had an offer from one of my regular clients to design them a brochure. I've never done this before, nor had the time to research it in depth, so I'm hoping someone might be able to guide me in the right direction! A few questions...
