this is true and bear in mind, low quality JPGs are pants they really look bad. Use the right program to design the artwork, select the right font, if you just have PS, then select the text as crisp and your good to go
Dave is completely correct, we often receive files this way for printing, the files tend to be created as an eps or similar which we can work with and return a quality printed banner or whatever;)
Be very few, if any peeps whio will make you a free logo.Besides the time involved, its about exchange i.e. something for something. Try making one yourself there are lots of ideas to be had simply go to Google images and type logo design for **** subject, bound to be a winner
You could always trace the font, admittedly takes some time. You can use Photoshop or a tracer program then trade the font to a shape and add effects in illustrator
The worst programs in the world for artwork - Grrrr.. MS Publisher and Word. Microsoft sould be fined for releasing publisher due to errors, awful and to be avoided
