Grey outline appears around Inserted Jpegs but in print only

Hank, Thankyou very much. That makes sense in this scenario. Thankyou for your time Hank, I think i'm going to have to have a chat with the publication. Thanks again

Grey outline appears around Inserted Jpegs but in print only

Thanks Hank I've just been back to look over the document, there's no fill in the image frame or grey outline. Sadly the magazine is one of those local rags, where they apply drop shadow to Comic sans headings and any adverts they produce in house feature pixelated logos lifted from websites...

Grey outline appears around Inserted Jpegs but in print only

The artwork is prepared in InDesign CC and a Press ready PDF created from this. I’ve used the same process for a variety of professional printers, I’ve never had this issue. The file is sent to the magazine as a press ready PDF. Any ideas?

Grey outline appears around Inserted Jpegs but in print only

Hi Levi, Yes it does, although it also happened on a previous advert which had a white outline around it (a grey outline appeared around the white outline). I cannot fathom it out. I have a sneaking suspicion they are editing the advert in some way. For instance one advert a few months ago...

Grey outline appears around Inserted Jpegs but in print only

Hi, I have recently been having issues with some printed literature. Thin grey borders appearing around jpegs. This issue appears only in PRINT not on screen or under any preview, neither does it happen with any other print work I have ever created, and seems to only occur with this particular...

    Freelancing and GDPR

Thanks everyone, This GDPR is as clear as mud. But you have all confirmed what I thought and I share your thoughts and views on it. I really appreciate your time. Thankyou

    Freelancing and GDPR

Yep! Tell me about it. Although I am pretty sure you do not need consent if the emails are transactional as opposed to marketing. But apparently if you hold any information on anybody, even a simple name, address and email, you have to have a GDPR policy adherence, which takes effect on the...

    Freelancing and GDPR

I'm a freelancer, it's great, and it's very simple. I don't market, send newsletters nor do I retain any payment details on my clients. The only data I hold is a name, postal address and email for invoicing which is via an online accounting system. But I am at a complete loss as to how I...

A question on ethics, what can you include in a portfolio?

@Paul Murray thank you for your advice, was a little hasty in posting. There were no actual terms, but I have detailed in the portfolio which of the projects were commissioned through this agency, but I haven't named them. I have been hesitant in applying for work for this reason. This agency...

A question on ethics, what can you include in a portfolio?

@scotty It's as if we have paralell lives!! I was found by a local design agency, I currently only work from home due to kids / school runs / busy husband. I used to work in an office environment and found it a useless exercise, I am way more productive with my own music, time and space and...

A question on ethics, what can you include in a portfolio?

Morning all, I have an ethical question. I shall give you a brief back story. I have been freelancing for 4 years, but due to my youngest child now starting school F/T, I'm looking to be salaried again, which means I need to rebuild a portfolio. Here's my question, my client base is made up...

I need a web developer, but need advice on how to find one!

Excellent point, but there are some great developers out there, who just don't have the piece of paper telling them they're qualified . . . yet. But also having said that, I am more than open to working with a professional developer, but I can't guarantee a steady work flow, and I'm interested...

I need a web developer, but need advice on how to find one!

This post needs further explanation: I am looking for a developer I can work with and develop a working relationship with. I have had a number of potential clients come to me whom I've had to turn away because I just don't have the skill set to be able to build a site to their requirements. I...
