    Asset Management Software. Recommendations?

Hi Levi, I more interested in a tool specifically, or primarily, for managing image assets e.g. stock images, logos etc It would also be good to be able to manage PDFs and other doc types. I guess Adobe Bridge is pretty effective for tracking down image assets, as long as you have a logical file...

    Asset Management Software. Recommendations?

Hi All! I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a decent design asset management system/product? Cheers, Mitch

    My logo

Hi all, Thanks for the feedback. I've revisited my logo now and have attached the latest attempt, taking into account some of your comments. with the first logo I've thickened the stroke of the conjoined J and M and found a font to link name and icon the second logo has had the bottom of...

    My logo

Thanks for the feedback. Designmatic - I agree that the stroke weight of the typeface I've used for my name is far too thin. I tried an italicised, script-like font to try and give the logo a warmer tone, but yes, it would be good to use something that was more closely related to the "JM" in...

    My logo

Hi, I've been working on a logo for myself with the intention of using it as a starting point to then develop an online portfolio. I'd really appreciate some feedback on my efforts. I'm using my initials and/or name for the sake of keeping it simple. The intention is to produce a clean...

indesign text won't center at top of circle path!

Oops  Just realized that you asked about InDesign. It's actually a fairly similar system, except that InDesign centers the text within two "bookend" style measures - see point A and B on attached pic. You can move these two measures around the path as in Illustrator, and these are used...

indesign text won't center at top of circle path!

Ben. Select the text path using the direct selection tool and hover the cursor over the line protruding from the oval path - point A on picture 1 (see attached). You'll see what looks like an upside-down "T" appear next to the cursor arrow (point B). Click, hold, and drag this anchor line...

Photo manipulation art compiled by PSD Tuts+

Came across this whilst browsing tutorials earlier. I know there's a lot of these compilation lists around but the work included on this one just stopped me in my tracks for about 10 mins: Mind-Blowing Examples of Photo Manipulation Art | Psdtuts+ Particularly like Graig Shields and Jerico...

    Drupal Gardens or Wordpress

Hi, I'm after a bit of advice. A friend of mine, who is a Web Developer, recommended Drupal Gardens with regards to building a portfolio website for myself. I've signed up and made a start but the theme builder isn't as accessible as I'd hoped, and my progress is slow. I was talking to a guy a...

    A few logos

I'm in agreement with Berry. I like the concept of the first logo, I'd maybe remove the stems though, and just have the W filled with water. The others I like though. Especially rejectees.

    Really nice minimalist design

The Jordan's packaging is great, but yes I think that the stenciled logo looks a little militaristic although, having said that, it could just as easily be the kind of type you'd find stamped on the the side of a wooden goods crate. Rustic. The Ketchup is nice as well. The ketchup bottle is...

    Graphic Design Portfolio

To be honest, you've more graphic work to show than I had when I got into the Cambridge School of Art (Anglia Ruskin University) in 2005. I was coming from an A-level art background with no graphic design experience whatsoever, and I still got in. Having said that I suppose there's more...

    Really nice minimalist design

Good stuff. Interesting how the designs often look better when stripped back - Durex and Red Bull in particular. Similar, in a way, to Waitrose own brand packaging. I do like the way Waitrose has embraced good design on their own products.

    My logo, whaddaya think

I agree that branding yourself is a sticky challenge. Personally, I find it hard trying to nail down any key characteristics possessed by my work and translating that into a central theme for logo development. Louise, I like the second logo in the selection of three which you posted - the text...
