    Flash CS4 scaling query

It's not painfully slow but for me at home and work I have a white screen for about four seconds before the background appears. And it does something weird where I have to click the links in order before I can click through them in any order. I'm putting this down to the loading time or possibly...

    Flash CS4 scaling query

Thanks for your advice. If I could afford to hire someone I probably would at this stage to finish it off. I'm doing it myself because I want to learn this skills but with limited time I can spend on my website, never being taught them and learning as I go it is more difficult and time consuming.

    Flash CS4 scaling query

It's all the images I'm using. I found some tips yesterday on how to reduce the file size like not using the imported jpeg data but that didn't make any difference. There was a tip on loading the images dynamically but I didn't have time to try it last night. I'll give that a go but I have a...

    Flash CS4 scaling query

Another problem I am having it that it is not loading as quickly as I would like. The swf is quite large over 20MB. I've resaved all the images as very high rather than maximum in photoshop and I have compressed the jpgs in Flash. I'm not sure what I can do to reduce the file size even more...

    Flash CS4 scaling query

I've found a good example of what I'm hoping to achieve Edge and Barrett | Branding, Design, Content On their home page the background image scales but the links remain the same size. Any help on how to do this would be great! Leanne

    Flash CS4 scaling query

Only because I've not done a lot of web design and I've only really used flash. I'd like to learn other ways but when I'm doing it on my own and learning as I go it would take far longer. As it's so nearly finished I'd like to stick with what I've done so far. I may try something different when...

    Selective scaling in Flash

Hello! I've created this website in Flash leannemallinder.co.uk At the moment the whole page scales to fit the browser window, I would like to stop the links and descriptions from scaling as well. On large screens they look too big. Anyone got any ideas how to do this? Thanks Leanne

    Flash CS4 scaling query

Hello! With the help of this forum's members I've managed to create this website leannemallinder.co.uk It took a while but I figured out how to get the background images to scale and maintain quality. What I need to know now is how to stop the the links and description boxes from...

    image quality in my website

I've finally got round to re-uploading my website and the image quality is much much better! It took a few attempts to get the sizes right so that they didn't slow down the loading times too much. There are a couple of blurry pics but that is down to my photography. I'd like to figure out how to...

    image quality in my website

I've just tried the smoothing option and that seems to have done the trick!! Now I've just got to replace every image on my website with a larger one, fun times! I'll let you know when I've re-uploaded. Thanks!

    image quality in my website

I was going to but I couldn't get into my emails last night to check where you said it was, as I couldn't find it in the publish settings options. The images have been saved as bilinear smooth in photoshop but I'll have a look at the properties tonight. Leanne

    image quality in my website

I gave that a try last night with a couple of my images and it has really improved the quality. It's still not as sharp as I would like but I think that may not be helped by my lack of photography skills. It didn't seem to make much difference whether it was a jpeg or png but the png files were...

    image quality in my website

Thanks for your advice. I've just testing it using pngs and it didn't really make any difference, they were just as pixelated. I've seen lots of websites that use full browser images and the images are lovely and crisp. I think I'll just have to keep trying different formats and settings. Leanne
