A logo i have been working on....

There is a lot you could do with the type to make it fit in better with the overall feel of the logo; at the moment you've used quite a non stylized type but added the grunge effects on top... Why not explore some of the traditional greek-looking typefaces available? I did something similar for...

Rebranding my freelance company. Any thoughts 1st draft on logo please....

It's a nice play on words, but I think you should focus on the concepts you want to communicate rather than a literal take on the chosen name... (I'm not sure what a literal carrot has to do with your branding! And a lightbulb is a little too cliché) If you are a redhead then along with a...

Charging for additional use of a design

I'd have to agree with all the above, in future having a contract will eliminate grey areas like this, but in the meantime it's really not going to harm you as long as you get paid for the original work you did. Put it this way; if the client contacted you and said "Hey Racoon, you know that...

So hard to find decent portfolio boosters

Well good luck to you, I first started out with a portfolio full of mock-up designs for projects of my invention; sometimes it's the best way to show what you're capable of! But one word of advice, make sure you treat the project as if it were a real one nonetheless... if you just throw together...

Do you have a personal design philosophy?

My Philosophy is that success in design is measured by function. Therefore everything I design MUST, above all other concerns, fulfill it's function, and fulfill it well! It seems obvious, but it's amazing how often that philosophy will help you maintain a focus on what is really important in...

    Graphic tablets advice

Well I highly recommend Wacom, I use the Intuos5, A3 at present - it allows you to use both your hands as well as the pen, and once you get used to it you will very quickly speed your workflow up immensely. An A5 sized version might be a little difficult to use as they scale sharply on a large...

How can I be a colourblind graphic designer?

There is a fantastic resource I've come across, an innovative system to help color blind people identify colors. It was created by designer Miguel Neiva and has received much praise in the design industry. You can check it out at -- ColorADD -- I hope you find this resource both interesting and...

Moving to an all RGB workflow

I think it's definitely do-able, but I would make the conversation to CMYK myself right before I send anything to print... There can just be too much variation in results if you leave it to the printer or, God forbid, the RIP! For photos and imagery, I would convert it separately in Photoshop...

    Personal Trainer Brand & Website

Lol default looking huh? That's the sad thing about wordpress... any website created with a structure - one users will be familiar with at that - is labeled a template build! No Tony it's not from a template... This site started off from 6 initial concepts mocked up in Photoshop, and then built...

    Designing a responsive website but...

Ok so basically each of the boxes, which I assume are divs housing the images - should have a width of lets say 17%, because don't forget you will need to allow for your margins as shown in the diagram you provided... You must make sure all elements within the wrapper add up to 100% width. I...

    Designing a responsive website but...

and for the images just use: max-width:100%; max-height:100%; in the css of course :) As long as your div's have been constructed with %'s the whole page should stretch along with the images if this is set... And as NugFX said above - just work with em's for the text and they'll resize...
