This is a recent one on the OM10 that I was pleased with.
There's surprisingly little editing used too, the contrast and saturation were both pretty cool in the original shot, just needed tweaking in Ps.
Cheers man!
OOOOOOOoo Bronica, nice. I have a medium format folding camera but it doesn't even come close to Bronicas/Mamiyas etc. Fun to play around with though. (http://media-cache-ec3.pinimg.com/originals/39/f0/35/39f035666ac6a727670f63e8bee7c072.jpg - the base image was shot on medium...
I hate windows 8...but I'm coping. There are some nice features, but generally it just seems really badly considered.
I'm sure if touch-screen catches on then it'll be awesome, but for now it can be a bit of a pain.
It's similar in the UK, although some smaller agencies are beginning to offer paid internships which is fantastic. I guess if the bigger agencies offered the same then applications would be even more competitive than they already are. No bad thing though, it'd certainly get me to step up my...
That is insane.
I can almost understand the reasoning, but it's a sad state of affairs. It's almost as though ad agencies aren't hiring 'talents', but just people who can tick the boxes. I wouldn't suggest that I am such a promising talent, but there are many people in my position, some of...
The icons are lovely. Made me realise I've rushed mine a little and it shows. Yours are really considered.
I'm not personally a fan of the red, but if it's your look, it's your look.
Also the links at the top could do with being a little smaller perhaps...
Great to see this discussion. I've been dabbling in freelance design for the last 3 years and I'm about to graduate with an Advertising degree. Whilst I wouldn't yet consider myself 'professional', my work is definitely on it's way, and I don't think my lack of experience should discourage...
It seems difficult to get all your icons really tidy in Windows 8, so I splashed out on Fences http://www.stardock.com/products/fences/
Double-click hides all your icons, love it.
Really nice work. Seems appropriate and very well considered.
The subtle gradient works well. I can't tell exactly what colour the 'Landscape Architects' text is, but I think it could use some tweaking.
Other than that I'd just try rearranging the 'LA' line, it doesn't sit quite right there...
The opaque-on-rollover thing was just my way of making the layout a little more engaging. I like the colour-rollover thing a lot of designers use but this was a little different and could be achieved in HTML/CSS without the hassle of flash (which I'm not comfortable enough with to implement on...
Hey Sean,
Sorry I completely forgot to reply. Thanks for the heads up on the logo's opacity filter, that's all sorted.
As for the portfolio elements and their opacity, I've bumped it up a bit (85% I think) which I a happy with. I agree with your point about the background but it's a...
Truth be told typography scares me a little. I'm still learning so much every time I sit down to get some designs done, but typography seems like a crazy mountain to tackle.
I'm planning on learning more about print processes too which is going to be a hell of a challenge.
Can't really take too much credit for the logo-face, I just adapted a free font called 'Hand of Sean'. I did it when I first started in freelance so perhaps it's time for a rethink/redo with my own handwriting.
Usually I wouldn't take as much feedback as I have, but there was a gem of advice in...
