I recently created a custom font for Beauty UK Cosmetics (see attached) by using Illustrator and then importing it into a program called Typetool. Typetool is one of the more basic (and cheap) font creation programs but by using it with Illustrator I found it to be more than efficient.

Whilst I agree on quality over quantity I am not sure you have enough work as it stands. Get some one to make up a brief for you or do a small job for someone for free!
If you take a normal screen shot then resize it photoshop and use the 'Nearest Neighbour' setting in the image size window. It still pixelates but does not blur like it normally would.
Photoshop EPS files used to be the only files that you could embed a clipping path with many moons ago but they are really no longer necessary. You can export EPS files out of photoshop that contain both raster and vector elements, however this can also be done as a PDF. Don't bother with them...
