Nice little collection you have there :) I have the Moleskines and Copic pens, never used the micron pens before, will have to have a go of them. Usually use Pitt pens.
I've had people question my time on some quotes (always the same people) - it's the ones that give you most hassle over paying small fees in general, and end up being a pain to work with in other areas.
I also ask for at least 50% up front as well, it's not worth working for people if they are...
Wouldn't say it was dead. Just using it as a cynical way to get juice links, then maybe. If you are reaching a bigger, relevant audience that would benefit from learning more about you and your content, then I would still do it.
Having a Google+ account will help as well, especially if you link your website to your 'author' section in Google+. Also set up a local business page on there that links to your website to show up in local searches in your area.
Don't waste money on trying to be the number one advert. If you're advert is good and relevant enough, then they will click through, without having to be the first advert they see.
Make sure you have a super-focused landing page when they do click through. Don't just lead them to the home page...
Try to get a friend to take a photo of you. Just as it looks a bit more professional than a selfie :)
Eventually try to have your own website that you own, so you can take control of the content and blog, as opposed to having your content spread out on different sites, that they own and control...
Haven't really bothered with Facebook, since the Edgerank thing came in, don't want to be paying for promoted posts.
I've had quite a bit of work from Twitter, surprisingly. Most work from word of mouth and then Google search.
Have just gone back to Google+ and Twitter for now.
Since they brought Edgerank in, most of your followers won't see your content. Edgerank just works out who to show your content to, based on how much interaction they've had with you in the past, how popular you post is and so on.
Facebook is...
As has been said before, unique content that is relevant to the audience you wish to engage with, and ultimately want to attract to your services/and or products.
Do you answer any questions, or help your potential customers within the blogs?
Any free guides or ebooks would help as well...
