I can read thanks. I think you need to read your original post though, like others have said, there was no request for help.. you're just talking at us. You've just copied and pasted some random information that most of us on here will already know as its a forum of designers, without any kind...
It makes my blood boil that people think its ok to ask people to work like this. What is it that makes people thing designers don't need to pay their bills or put food in their bellies? You wouldn't expect 3 painters to come and decorate 3 rooms in your house and only pay the one you like best...
No there certainly isn't subtlety being practised here! Getting a bit bored of reading posts that are only for the posters benefit!
Merry Christmas to you too, hope Santa brings what you're hoping for!
Yeh iDesign, i thought it was clever and amusing.
I love how Arianna is constantly posting poor, spammy patronising topics 'about design' to designers and you post something interesting and relevant and get told to 'make it clear'!
I would say definitely draw from scratch in Illustrator rather than use the cut out filter, that normally looks amateurish, you have a lot more control drawing in Illustrator. Like Shauna said grainy textures and strong shapes and typography are very important. I started a set of travel posters...
Second vote for Stationery Direct, they often have special offers. I've ordered a few sets of cards from them recently and they were great. Whenever i've spoken to Damon he's been very helpful too!
