Personally i think theres alot of of free fonts which i think are rubbish, but theres also a lot which i have used myself. I think you really have to search for good free fonts! Along the same line as this, does anyone know of any decent software which allows you to create your own fonts?

Before i found out about studying design, i wanted to become a plumber (god knows why). Then i went to an open day at a college and found myself really wanting to study design. I was always creative at school and felt this industry was for me!

I know this is an age old debate among designers and others whether to use Quark or InDesign. Im still getting work through supplied as Quark files and finding myself converting them to InDesign simply because i prefer the software. Are you finding yourself doing this? or is it just me?

I must say im quite pleased with the iMac i work on at work, so much im going to buy one myself for personal and freelance work. I also use a PC a fair bit as i find this better for web design, although i think this is personal preference. Macs are awesome!

I tend to use iStockphoto.com. Ive had a browse on a few sites and seem to find these the most reasonable. However alot of their images i would never use as some of them are a little generic and bland. I try to use my own images if i can.

Things i find which get me through the day are the obvious Mac, laptop pc, sketchpad, books for inspiration, pencils, pens, cup of tea, phone and USB stick. Also a very messy desk! but i don't think that helps!
