Are you using a CMS for your / your clients site Chris? If so their may be a plugin you could use, otherwise I agree with Corrosive above.

I too am a MODx guy personally, I have themed / templated wordpress sites as well, onto the subject, I think a blog is useful to any business who wants to post unique content. Keeping it relevant to your business sector is the main key though imo. I am currently building a blog onto my site.

I agree with stthomas, a maximum of 5 examples is best, but a variety of different categories, corporate, small to medium business, old and new is sometimes good in my opinion. Definitely leave them wanting more though.

Totally agree with building up contacts, even contacts with designers / front end developers because you never know when they may be able to pass work your way or vice versa.

A fair amount of people start off with reseller packages, I don't see any harm in it at all, I do it. I only have 1 client who needs resources available at all times so I put them on their own VPS, time for me to upgrade the hosting package soon as more clients come in though. Just balance it...
