    As a guideline for resizing upwards, You're safe at a threshold of 150% the size of the image, once you start to go beyond that point the loss of quality is going to be easier to spot.

    It depends, if your file has areas of transparency flattening will divide the work up by transparent areas and rasterized areas which is easier for printing.

    It'd probably be more accurate to say that there's a small pool of fonts for any given Design problem. I don't know if I'd want to use the same 10 fonts for Logo work as I would something Narrative focused such as comics or short stories. Definitely different kinds fonts for Animation Vs Poster...

    My time at University distinguished Typeface as the Family: Times new roman, or Arial, as examples. And the Font is the specifics: Arial, bold, 12pt, black.
