    Thank you for your post my friend, I am happy to hear that pen tools is a professional tool because before this project I had no idea about this tool, but as I really wanted to design this wing, I spent a few hours to learn and then designed the wing 3 times until I got what I wanted.

    And this is the outcome:

    I recently did a logo that incorporated a set of feathered wings like this. The best way to get an exact copy is using the pen tool. Once you have every feathered piece you can do what you like with them. Roughen up the edges, add some gradients, whatever you like.

    As everyone said, that does take time. Alot of time, but it's worth it when it's done.

    If you're not comfortable with the pen tool then practice. I learned in my 1st year of uni, by finding flat cartoons with block colours, and simply going over them and reproducing them. By doing this you'll learn how the pen tool works, how to edit points, lines, etc.

    This is a basic vector version of the wing on the left, I suppose it depends what level of detail you require for a logo?
