Design for Malaysia

Hey all,

Hopefully I will soon be embarking on a logo design project that will be promoted to a Malaysian audience.

Having never been lucky enough to visit Asia I've done a bit of reading up on the culture and customs there. What I really need to know though is what their relationship is with certain colours and symbols, etc.

Has anyone else had experience of designing for any other Asian countries OR can suggest any good sources of information for this?

Spent 3 weeks in china a while back and i know they focus a lot on red for prosperity and luck if I remember correctly. I'm sure they have some quiet particular customs with colours. I'm sure you'll find something on the internet! Not a very comprehensive response I know but I’m interested to find out what others say!
