If you have no funds for a decent designer (I suspect you do not), the best thing you can do is emulate something else that is really simple and minimalistic. That way you won't need much in the way of design skills to create it yourself.

Basically put the album name down one side or something and that's about it, don't even attempt imagery.

OR, if you are willing to invest money in high quality photography, use the best photo (it needs to be good) as the cover and the album name/your name only atop, like this ...
