Default Hi Yol!

I'm Darren and I've worked in the graphics industry for 25 years and last November 2008 I was made redundant. I had started as a screen printer but for the last 7 years had moved up into the offices and dealt with the technical accounts like Rolls Royce & British Airways. Some of my other duties involved quality assurance which I helped gain ISO approval for the company and R&D into new products and improving existing ones.
I now have started my own design and graphics company and we are looking to make new contacts and improve our knowledge because you never stop learning!

God , I feel a bit inadequate now haha , I,m Bryan , new to the forum , and im a graphic design student from glasgow currently studying at Cardonald college . Looking for any type of advice from you guys , the people who matter , i have a strong passion for advertising and poster design although i would consider myself a good allrounder , sorry if this thread has steered away from the original question .

I'm an employed graphic designer... Just started a new job in fact.

Been in the business for over 3 years and carry out freelance projects as well when I'm fortunate enough to come across them without putting too much effort into getting them. I do both print and web design/development, so I just say I'm a graphic designer, as I think this covers everything :)

Always wanted to be a designer, studying it from the earliest opportunity. So I guess I'm 'living the dream' lol

/Doug

Having worked for years as a Digital Artist/Retoucher/Image Manager for a large and well established Design Agency in Bristol, & more recently handling Photoshop composition, Design & Artwork for an Agency in London (freelance, after I was "discovered" – at last!), I am now moving to London due to a recent change of circumstances.

There seems to be an ocean of opportunities for retouchers (my main strength – as design is soooooo competitive!) but am finding it hard to whittle searches down as a lot of the roles are fashion-based, and I am FMCG, advertising, corporate and publishing.

Any pointers regarding agencies to perhaps approach (design/photography/in-house studio – or recruitment agents) would be fantastic help to me if anyone is bored enough . . . I am currently looking for accommodation in Wandsworth sort of area – so central-ish, either side of Thames, 5 - 10 mile radius sort of thing etc. etc.

I'm currently employed full time as an inhouse graphic designer for a major insulation company, as well as doing my own freelance stuff under the name Errozero, and selling my handmade items (crochet, clothes, accessories, dreads etc.), so a busy little bee i am hehe!
