haha pens are a nightmare. I've got a little cheapo A3 tablet, but I'm considering getting a Wacom. I use a Wacom at a work, they just feel a lot smoother.

Can't believe you're mocking "tha street", you're obviously not cool enough to be a fan.
Work hunting is horrid, especially as:
A) the competition in this industry is ridiculously high
B) I don't really know which stuff to put in my half finished portfolio
and
C) I'll probably change my mind about what I want to do after a month. I'm always thirsty to try new things, it's like a form of occupational ADHD.

Hope you're feeling better now, and that you manage to retrieve the pen. A pen to a designer is like a sword to a samurai. Only, a samurai wouldn't lose his down the back of a chest of drawers!

Had a vomiting virus and it caused problems with other health issues, it put me in hospital for a bit. Glad I got a little better to go to Dublin though (had an excellent time :D), but it decided to come back last week :( It sucks because there were a few jobs I could have been applying for but couldn't.

Shame you had to loose out on the trip. Think watching Corrie is a bit lame though :P I'm sure you could have found something more exciting to do!!!???

Need to get my design feet back on the ground and do some work... only thing is my pen for my graphics tablet has just fallen behind a chest of drawers that I can't move... ggrrrrrr.

Hey how come you were in hospital?

Japan got cancelled because the two people who I was supposed to be going with, broke up after 8 years. Crazy stuff. But where I should've been taking pictures of mount fuji, I'm now sitting on my ass watching coronation street.

Anyway, back to looking for a new job for me.

Yeah that sounds great. I bought a magazine the other day and it mentions a few good websites for collaboration projects, I shall see what they are like first.

It's weird I was having a conversion about whaling the other day. Turns out I no someone who has tried it. He's also tried Kangaroo, shark and some random insect type things... yuk, makes me queasy just thinking about it. They like their seafood in Japan, so prepare for the strange flavoured foods.

I've been applying for jobs, but really not happy with the look of my website, so I'm making changes to that.

You won't regret your purchase, I'm on my MBP and can't fault it, I opted for the 17inch model with top spec, because I'm greedy. But you've gotta love the backlit keys and hotkeys. I think I spent the first night in the dark just staring at them, they're magic.

I hear Dublin is brilliant, so you'll have a whale of a time. Speaking of which, there was a documentary on the other day in Japan and they were eating whale, but I think I'll swerve that. Got to master the chopsticks first, me at the dinner table, not a pretty site I can assure you.

I really do want to get back into a design job. My current one is really just taking up way too much of my time and I really need to focus. Hence the laptop purchase.

I've booked a holiday to Dublin, but I'm very jealous of your Japan trip. Not nearly as much fun!

I will send you a postcard hahaha. I actually can't wait, I'm going for 3 weeks, and will be taking a camera. I've been informed the cherry blossom blooms around the time when I'm going, so it'll create a brilliant picture. Although knowing my luck, they'll have earthquakes and monsoons, and I'll get eaten by Godzilla or something.

It's mad going into work on snow days, because there's usually half the company missing. So those who have bothered to make it in, get all the work, joy.

I know you said you're away from design with your current job, but is it something you're looking to return to?.
I get embarrassed when I look at other peoples portfolio work, because it's generally of a high standard, and mine really isn't. It doesn't help trying to make the shift from print to design, because I've not actually designed anything for a realistic client, so whatever I do is purely selfish, which is no good.
