    Talking Job Advice!

I have been searching for what seems like forever for work, and just recently managed to have an interview with a pretty big/awesome design studio that isn't based a million miles from me!

They've now asked me to come in on Monday morning and to work through the week to see how I do. I think this week will make a huge impact on their decision on whether they take me full-time, part-time or no-time...

Just wondering if anybody has any advice on making a good impression in a professional studio or if you have any experiences yourselves that might help?

    Cheers!

Do what you say you'll do.
    Listen carefully to everything.
    Add value everywhere.

Capable, motivated and fit. That's what is being looked for (and fit does not mean attractive!).

I'd triple check everything before you hand anything in to be looked at, they will probably scrutinize everything you do in that first week! but if you make a good impression, are friendly and be yourself, you'll be on to a winner! Good luck!

Ask questions, take interest in what the other designers are doing. I think if you're hard working and enthusiastic it should pay off. If they are asking you to go in for a week to try you out, it sounds like you pretty much got it in the bag.

Perhaps the most important bit above actually. If you can't make a decent cuppa, you'll leave a bitter taste in their mouth.

try not to 'impress' with way out designs! keep things coporate and clean unless they ask you outherwise. I once made the mistake of flexing my creative muscles on a trial week and they didnt like the new boy trying to show off!..
