Default Restaurant menu's...space menus ;)

Right this will sound really random but for a uni project I am creating a series of menu's for space travel, I plan on either creating a menu of the food eaten on space travel in the decades so 50's to 90's or I will create a menu for certain space shuttles.

I have just decided on this idea so am currently working out how to create a different look and feel for each menu and what to include to show the decade it has been created from.

I was just wondering if anyone has any websites that should good examples of resturant menu's as I need to collect research but im stumbling across crap menu's which are not helping!

Also if anyone wants to give feedback about the idea and how it could be improved that would be ace!

Cheers!

Matt

Why not do the rounds of your local restaurants? If you explain to them what you're about they may be willing to let you photograph their menus or something. And you never know, you might get work out of it...I'm a young graphic designer etc. leave them your card...
As for working out design styles of each decade you are interested in, try your local/uni library if it has a good art/design section, as they usually stock those 'designs of the 60's' style books. I'd decide firmly on your decades and do a good deal of research into the design trends and styles of the particular decade.
As for menu design itself...most of the time it's dishes on the left, prices on the right, tarted up via use of fonts and graphics. You could go all out on this instead, and create maybe even shaped menus, that'd be fun. Origami Rocket shaped menu hehe. Anyway, my rambling point is don't restrict yourself by what menus are out there. Get your decades worked out and get creative! Have lots of fun with it, this sounds like an exciting project.
