Thread: Logo critique needed.

I'm designing a logo for a company called iNAUTICA. They sell sail yachts and in the future maybe motor yachts. This is my thinking so far. What do you guys think?

As it is only a maybe for the future, I have tried to subtly visualise a bow of the boat as well. It was a bit of a tricky task because they are still not sure on what direction they will take in the future.

Aww damn, I was about to say I really liked it but you raise a REALLY good point there.

I do see the bow now it's pointed out but my first impression was definitely sails... perhaps something shaped a bit more like breaking waves at the bottom...?

Thanks Linzi, They dont actually sell motor boats yet and not 100% sure if they will so maybe it does have to be really subtle? As they don't sell them yet, I don't want to be sending the message that they do surely?

I like the concept but feel the device maybe needs to be more like a sail, i'm thinking moth at the moment, too symmetrical maybe? Isn't one sail usually a touch smaller?

With regards to offering motorised in the future I don't think the logo has to depict every single product for 'sail' (see what i did there) and think the idea you have is fine, epecially if sail boats are their main product.

Yeah one sail is usually smaller than the other, good point Bosshog!
