    Tron: Legacy [Cinema Experience 2011]

    Hey everyone.

This is my ongoing project for the next year:
Brief: Create a poster for every film I see at the cinema in 2011.
Deadline: Each poster must be completed before my next visit to the cinema.
    ----
Disclaimer: This project was only thought up after I'd already seen 127 Hours and Tron: Legacy. I happened to of made the Tron poster first. They'll be in chronological order of my viewing in this set.

Here is my first poster, for, Tron: Legacy.

Cool idea. I really enjoyed Tron: Legacy, and it had nothing to do with the sexy women in tight clothing I assure you.

I really like the design, but I'm not keen on the type for the actors names. It doesn't fit in, perhaps because of the font? I'd maybe make it a lighter colour too :)

    Thanks for the C+C.
I didn't want to make it to 'wham, in your face', any lighter than that and it kind of is to be honest.

    Personally, I didn't rate Tron:Legacy as much as I wanted to :(

Yeah, I found it was very 'dumbed down' compared to the first one, but I still enjoyed it, though possibly because I was watching in 3D. I just tried to view it as a new film, rather than a sequel. I watched the original again recently and it's still a bit hard to get your head around.

I thought it was pretty cool how the character Tron was in the new film, but I quickly realised he was a bit of a gimmick, especially considering you never see his face or hear him speak, and the way he turns back to blue as he's falling to his death was pretty predictable.

Mate, I went to see it in IMax 3D and it still did nothing for me. I've never seen the original, and held off viewing it until I'd seen this 'remake' as such, so I too, could watch it with fresh eyes.

For me, it was all eye candy and no substance. The character Tron was a minor part really wasn't it? Lol. I couldn't believe his part wasn't remotely sufficient. I thought that the film dragged and there were a lot of parts that could have easily been cut.

I did think parts of it mirrored the original film a little too closely, particularly when the young guy (I can't even recall his name) first entered the grid and was made to fight (like the original) and race (like the original). Considering it's a new Grid, you'd expect some new games, not just updated rehashes. Plus, there was a pretty long, boring trip on the solar sailor (like the original) that could have been cut.

The Daft Punk soundtrack is cool though, and Michael Sheen in the club scene was pretty cool. They could have done a lot more with the franchise (or just left it remain) but despite the annoyances, for some reason I still liked it.

Echo every bit of that. Daft Punk track was fantastic.
