Selling brand designs

Hi,

I am looking to sell a brand and designs I have had developed, though for various reasons can no longer take forward. The brand was designed by a leading agency in the UK, and I own the IP for the designs and branding.

How would you go about selling this? The brand stands out in its market and I am sure there would be interest, any pointers in the right direction would be extremly helpful and appreciated.

Thanks

When you say 'brand' do you mean a currently trading business with accounts or you've developed the branding for a business which is yet to launch? If it's the former your best bet is to employ a business valuation company to calculate the market value then approach the the competition and make them aware of your desire to sell. They may well make you an offer. If however its the latter (a business which is yet to launch), the only value will be any assets owned by the brand.

Thank you for your reply.

The business has never traded due to various factors, and I can no longer take it to market. The company owns the brand IP and designs that's all. Was just wondering if possible to sell the branding and designs.

From my non-specialist position, I'd imaging that this would be a tough sell unless you can you back up what you have with desirable web domains. Otherwise it sounds like you're trying to sell something designed to your (or some third party's) specifications to someone who would presumably have their own ideas. On that basis, I'd estimate the value at demonstrable outlay cost or less: I imagine it's going to be hard to find someone who wants this sort of thing off the peg.
