Can I personalize what a photoshop action records ?

Hello.

Is it possible to personalize what a photoshop action records in real time ?
How to make the action ignore some of the options/tools I choose while I'm recording an action ?
Is it possible?

Is my question confusing?

Thank you all

Firstly, it works in real time yes, but it's not tracking your mouse etc. so you can take your time, when you run the action it will run through the selection of items you choose, rather quickly. So there's no rush in recording the action.

Secondly, you can delete, move, set the action to be a dialogue box to invoke special settings at certain points.

I'm not going to bother internet searching Photoshop Action Tutorials for you - I think you can manage that yourself.

I usually use my digital pen with photoshop to draw and record the drawing process in an action.
The things is... the action also records, for example, hand moves, or me selecting other layers or tools by accident, ( meaning I have to go back to the action panel to undo the last things I made by accident and slowing the process).

My question is, is it possible to tell a photoshop action to only record my brush tool stroke movements, and no "hand move" for example?
Can an action ignore certain tools? Can I personalize it ?

Yes, I've google a lot of different terms and cannot find anything about what I specifically want.
My english is also not the best so I may be struggling to search it with the right keywords.

Again, thank you Paul and Hankscorpio.

Ah, I see. You should be able to just go into the action panel, select the individual actions you created by mistake and delete them.

Well that's the thing - if you make an error, you can stop the action, delete the errors, and then go back recording from where you left off.

Maybe don't make mistakes :p

I guess so, ahaha. well, thank you guys. Maybe I can create a way to actually make it happen, somehow... mmmmhhhhh

Yes, that's what I do today. Is there other way to prevent those specific selections from even being recorded?
How will it know which ones you want to keep? It’s just a dumb application remembering everything you do. It won’t even know if you have made a mistake as you could be using ctrl-z and ctrl-y to check your actions.

Well, the tool could be upgraded so that we could add simple exclusion rules to the tool(s) we desire.
It would speed up actions creation for different purposes, from my point of view.

But it's just you. Nobody else seems to want this feature so I doubt Adobe is going to put any resources into something they aren't even aware of.

Why don't you fund the development of an extension that does what you want?
