This layout is for a fake brief where I have to create a flyer to promote an up and coming launch party for a cocktail bar called 'Eighty Two'. Although im just not sure whether my layout looks good or not?

Could someone give their views on this please, also the token for the free drink is not done yet, im getting the layout sorted first, but this is my first ever layout so I just need some feedback to try and improve.

It's not so much the layout that I have a problem with, it's the colours, kerning, leading and the overall spacing that I have issues with...

Well the colours are very dull and mundane, it does not fill me with the excitement of a launch party. As for the terminology used, if you do not know what they mean, you should, and I suggest you do a bit of research into typography. I think there is poor use of the spacing, for example; why is the url so close to the line break? There is just no need...

Thank you very much for taking the time to critique my work, I will work on the colours and also do some research. Thanks for the help

I think I get where you're trying to go with it but it's lacking punch and it's obviously lacking a fair bit of 'design fundamentals' as mentioned above.

I have fixed the fundamentals, I think it might need a brighter green maybe?

OK disclaimer... not perfect as I don't have the font used and it's like 1:30AM but this is the sort of direction I would have gone with those elements. Not 100% happy with the top though due to the vertical requirements being quite high. I've changed the 'bottom area' in the process to make it look neater, the empty box could include a barcode or something similar.

Tweak to colours, 'grey' is more grey, no longer a 'green' tint to it and the green been made more punchy but you could have easily used magenta, cyan or any other punchy bright 'feminine' colour.

It just seems a bit dull and boring to me, flyers should be eye-catching. I would put some images in there somewhere in the background even if
they are quite subtle. I would also do the logo as numbers, they are such odd, awkward words to use as a logo.

Thats completely fine, you really didn't need to do that at 1:30 AM, although thank you very much for the advice, I think that is the direction I am going to with this design, I see now it does need to be brighter to be more eye catching, the target audience is young professionals, which is why I wanted to use this font.

Thank you for your feedback, I am now going to try and make the logo with numbers, as I see what you mean
I am working on the colours to make the flyer more eye catching, I will try a background image too

I have been doing some work today, and I have changed a few of the fonts to be more fitting and changed the layout and the colours too. I feel this is a better overall flyer. I still need to do the coupon and I maybe re do the banner section, but I wanted to get some opinions.

Any feedback would be great.
