    Whats the best way to advertise yourself as a freelancer...

    ...just wondering what peoples views are?

    I'd say the best way is to target certain companies and ring them offering your services.

    Ideally, get yourself a brief meeting with those companies to show them what you can offer.

    Do not be pushy
    Do not promise what you cannot produce
    Do take the first job they give you - even on a small budget ;)

    I work in a museum as well as being a freelance designer and have picked up lots of briefs from the curators, so it might be worth contacting your local museum/art gallery. It's usually nice work too!

    What about TPS? How would I know if a company is registered with them or not. I'm a bit worried about where i'd stand calling up companies...
