I'm aiming to cut shapes out of jpeg files in Illustrator, I figured the easiest way to do this was to use clipping masks.
Now, is there any way to discard everything outside of the mask, rather than hiding it? (Uploaded image incase I've been unclear)

Hi Guys,

I'm creating an animation for a client in after effects, the whole thing is working very well and looks ace, client loves it and we cant wait to finish it. One problem though is that I need to change some of the elements within the composition, the elements have been imported from illustrator as compositions with layers. Is it possible to edit the AI file and update the AE comp? I dont want to have to bring them in again and redo all the animation settings.

Hope this makes sense.

Not. I'm really against the monthly subscription. Once I get hold of CS6, I'll be hanging onto it for YEARS lol.

I've been using serifs drawplus etc, and they're FABTASTIC. However, due to upcoming collaborations, it's probably best that I return to Adobe simply because I want everything to be a smooth as possible, plus there are millions more tutorials and stuff. Is anyone here using the creative suite via the new cloud system yet? Is it worth going for that option or purchasing the retail version? I kinda like the idea of just fully owning it, plus I can get student discount now thanks to my sibling! I'm also not fused about up-grading for the next couple of years, by when I hope I could afford a proper full copy for myself. I'd be happy with cs3 right now! What are the pros/cons? Thanks in advance.
