New London mag looking for designer

An exciting new magazine launch in London is looking for a talented and ambitious designer. The post requires excellent Quark and PhotoShop skills; the ability to work on complex layouts and graphics; and adherence to strict, daily deadlines. The successful candidate will be someone who can understand complex editorial concepts and transform them into stunning but simple visuals. Attention to detail is a must. The right person will also have an excellent understanding of images, and will be required to carry out comprehensive picture research. Initially, the work will be offered on a freelance basis at a competitive daily rate. If things work out, the successful candidate would likely be offered a contract. This will be a very labour-intensive project, requiring long, stressful hours; nine-to-five types need not apply. If successful, you would be given a huge amount of creative responsibility and the chance to make your mark in the small team. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious, hard working designer. Applicants should design a magazine cover with a serious take on the death of Amy Winehouse, and a double page feature spread on the same topic.
