Hehe, nice and efficient call ending

... another rage....clients that assume that your 'style' is limited to what you have in your portfolio. Therefore they assume you cannot design in the particular 'style' they want....ridiculous....

Currently laying some T&C's out for a client, 4,500 words. Unfortunately they didn't have it in a digital format even using OCR it has taken ages to correct the odd mistake....my head is fried

A new business opened up in my village so I thought I'd have a chat about design & print. First time I'd tried cold calling of that nature and they've taken me up on the offer, buying business cards and posters...all good, you may think.

No. Well, first of all I mixed up my figures despite knowing them inside out on any other day, so I cut myself short of a tenner. Then all of the staff basically surround me asking why I am charging design costs

After negotiation they bring me down another £10 (at this point I didn't realise that was actually £20)

Not all bad though, they wanted to change the size of the posters so I had to get another quote, turns out my £20 loss, is now only £15. Still can't believe how much difference a simple mistake made

At the end of the day it's only £15 but....£15 I could have had

Angry clients, gotta love 'em!

During a meeting with a client who had requested an advert to be designed for a local magazine I got on to talking about using their current logos. I explained about vectorised logos and what files I would need from them to use their logo, and both he and his business partner/wife kept nodding and telling me they knew what I was on about. I asked them whether they had their two logos in .pdf format, they said "of course we do, we'll email them over tonight".
Well to my surprise these files turned out to be one small photograph of the outside of their shop, and one low quality .jpg just about the size of the avatars on this forum...
I got back in touch and tried to explain what I needed from them in basic terms, they then asked me to just "Copy and paste from the pics we've already sent you. Then just make them bigger. It's easy!"

...Three weeks later and I've managed to get a .pdf of one of their previous ads, and got the logos from there.

Oh, and did I mention they're also the kind of people that say "It should only take you ten minutes!" whenever they request a major change?!

Can't complain too much though, work is hard to come by around these parts!

Default Crazy man on blades

Lol! Only yesterday I was driving my sister to a friends house and a man who looked like he was probably in his 50s, jumped off the pedestrian walkway (on his roller blades may I add) and began speeding towards my car!!

I slowed down completely and he got about 3 feet away from my car before jumping back on the pavement and skating off!! Now he looked quite shaky and not overly confident so Im wondering if maybe he was having a midlife crisis and wanted to do something sooo daring that it could have potentially killed him!!

I was laughing bcos thats just my humour, but my sister was livid!!!

Insult to injury - my local printer seems to be having problems and isn't printing the black and white properly large format! Having to find someone else asap

I read an actual quote from a customer looking for web design services. He said he preferred the 'artist' to be based on a mac, because he found that they tend to create better art than those that use pcs.
