Question Why do most InDesign Plugins cost the earth to publish to iPad?

Why is it so expensive to publish most material to the iPad from indesign using plugins (like 5.5 and Woodwing) - I did find one free one for plugins and a planning tool GoMobile | The Ultimate iPad magazine creation tool | Try it Free but all of the others seem to simply be profiteering. That one can be used to design and pitch on a real iPad for free but others charge thousands - is it just a case of trying to make money out of it while the GoldRush is on?

I'd assume they look at the cost of InDesign and assume you're made of money.

Apple, Adobe... that whole love-in thing they've got going on...

I understand that the next incarnation of QX - my layout tool of choice - has full iPad/app/e-publishing facilities on board. Nice.

... in fact, having looked into it a bit more, I'm seriously thinking about investing in and developing iPad publishing as part of my offer.
