Default Stripey Swirls In Illustrator

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew a simple way of or even a tutorial for creating stripey swirls/vines in illustrator, I know I could draw the stripes individually but in the example image below the stripes look like they are sorta warped to the swirl/vine shape.

I am quite new to AI so any help would be appreciated.
